Huck Finn Exam 1 (1-23): Essay
De’Mario Robertson

English 10 4th hour

In the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Huck faces a number of moral dilemmas, in this number of dilemmas, Huck problems are known to be tricky if you put yourself in the position he was in at the moment. Huck is known to get himself out of these problems and turn them around into a sort of “I’m glad I’m not in his shoes” kind of position.
A moral dilemma that Huck faced was when he and Jim were riding down the river on there Raft and they came to a big problem. The 1st problem they faced was that they were lost. The second problem they faced was that they could not find the city of Cairo. The details to the problem they faced was that when Huck got off of the Raft on this unfamiliar city or land, he didn’t know that he was going to come across a even bigger problem. Huck did not realize that what he was about to face was an even bigger problem. Huck coming onto the land was depending on if Jim was to be turned in as a run away slave, or be killed.
I think that Huck made a good decision by not turning Jim in to those slave catcher men. Huck knew that if he turned in Jim, he would face either a punishment for his actions of running away or even be killed depending on were they were located. So Huck’s decision saved a man’s life, and helped him keep his pride knowing that he had done well in Jim’s eyes.
Even though Huck was feeling sort of mixed up because he didn’t know whether to turn Jim or turn himself in and let everyone know that he was still alive, I think that he still made a good and courageous decision, because most of the kids his age at his time would have never thought to run away from there parent or guardian. Huck was smart enough to know that when something going wrong you need to get yourself out of that position as soon as possible.

Reader Response 3: Huck Finn (14-18)
Reader Response
1. The things that impress Huck in the Granger ford’s house are all the cleanliness and unique furniture and basic lifestyle they have in the house. Another thing that’s impressing to Huck is the poetry and articles he finds in the 15 year old girl room. He is amazed at how good she write, but disturbed that it’s all about death and how there are pictures, obituaries, and other death related things in the poetry. It shows that he’s very interested in the lifestyle they live in which to him is perfect.
2. One of the books that were special that caught Huck’s eye was the big family bible full of pictures, and one was “Pilgrim’s Progress,” about a man that left his family it didn’t say why. He was interested
