Reader Response1: Huck Finn ( 1-6 )

Tom Sawyer- "Now we'll start this band of robbers and call it Tom Sawyer's Gang. Everybody that wants to join has got to take an oath, and write his name in blood." . . . . " And if anybody that belonged to the bad told the secrets, he must have his throat cut, and then have his carcass burnt up and the ashes scattered all around, and his name blotted off the list with blood and never mentioned again by the gang, but have a curse put on it and be forgot, forever."(ch. 2, p.15, par 6)

The quote to me means like Tom sawyer was a big influence on huck. Tom was suppose to be a huck's be friend. he was not mentioned in the book alot but the parts that he were in was big. Such as the par when him and huck were sneaking around and nessing with big jim. That part made a big influence because that showed how him and characteristics were in the book.

Mark Twain's opninon on the quote was that he thought that making the characters in the book how they are would show you how real life experirences are. The abussive parents part in the book was big because it shows that despite how huck's father abused him in many ways he still kept his pride and head and moved on. Mark Twain was showing a lesson and a moral in the book and quote's.
