Reader Response 2: Huck Finn (7 - 13)

The way Huck is influenced by tom sawyer is because there both young and they can understand another. Tom sawyer is suppose to be Huck’s best friend, so if you have a best friend your best friend should be able to listen to the things you have to go threw. Your best friend should be the one that’s helping to get into stuff and helping you get out of things. Tom sawyer is one of those best friends who gets you into trouble and persuades you to do thing that you know is wrong but do it anyway. But then he is a friend that stays with you even though you know you might get into trouble.

The way Widow Douglas influences Huck is by taking care of him while his father is out and about. “The Widow Douglas, she took me for her son, and allowed she would sivilize me”. Widow helps Huck by providing him with shelter and other good life living. But Huck did not like the fact that widow was so strict. But because widow Douglas was so strict it helped Huck to be a very strong and smart boy.

The way pap was an influence on Huck is because he showed Huck how to be strong and wise and how to do man things like carry loads of food and make a camp fire. But the again pap was kind of a bad influence on Huck because he showed Huck the bad ways of life such as stealing and being drunk which is not a good example when your a kid.

The way Jim was an influence on pap is because he showed him how to do things such as make a shelter, camp fire, food, boat, and other materials while your outside in the wilderness. Jim also was kind of a bad influence because they stole things that weren’t there’s, but Jim put it in a way to say that it was borrowing instead of stealing so if you borrowed it would not be such a bad thing technically. Jim has been taking care of Huck so technically he’s not a bad person, but they will be punished for there wrong doing.
